last week, LG fashion week took over toronto's exhibition place and i had the opportunity to take in a show. about a month prior when the schedule was announced, i knew which show it had to be as the orange logo screamed at me from the screen. of course i needed to be at the joe fresh runway presentation of the 2011 fall/winter collection.
after much "front of the line" anticipation and then almost having to stand in the back behind the bleachers (read: i doubt anyone could have seen so much as a golden oxford from there) we stealthily seated ourselves in a small non-reserved location and hoped for the best. (our pal martha had been invited by her boss mr. mimran himself, after all...) armed with sketchbooks and a camera, we must've fit right in because we were able to enjoy the
SOLD-OUT (OVER-SOLD) show from what i'm sure was considered the nosebleeds of fashion at (only) 10 rows back. nonetheless! we were happy to be there, happy to have a seat! the clothes were beautiful and momentarily had me wishing the upcoming season was fall, not summer. coats and coats and coats, sheer blouses, the aforementioned gold oxfords and orange everything. my goodness, the orange! thank you LGFW, it was a short but definitely sweet first experience. xox
